"Good value for the money. Easy parking next to the hotel. It offered breakfast (though we did not take it) Walking distance to restaurants and supermarket. Quiet hotel."

"The room and the linen was very clean. Comfortable beds and a very quiet sleep. Also a very good shower so all the basics covered. The lady on a reception was lovely. Had a good breakfast and the whole stay was excellent value for money. Very convenient location just off the motorway and easy parking. Also there was a restaurant over the road and we were given a 10% off voucher. Had a very good meal. Whould definitely stay again."

"We had a great night's sleep, the room was quiet and dark, the bed was comfortable. The style of the hotel is of its time, we enjoyed the retro look. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and every thing worked perfectly. The shower was particularly good. The lady on reception was extremely pleasant and kind and we would definitely stay again."

"Stayed fir a night on the way to bordeaux. Excellent location, literally just off the motorway. Travelling with a dog. Rooms very clean and staff fantastic. Beds are very comfy and kids slept on bunkbeds."

"Very good value budget hotel, clean and comfortable room, friendly lady on reception. Close to autoroute, but hidden away, although Google maps made it easy to find. Very good restaurant 'Portofino' only two minutes walk away."

"The hotel has a good mix of locals and visitors in the bar and restaurant. Staff are friendly, very attentive and efficient. I would particularly single out Mathieu, and Nadia for her charm and customer recognition. The reception area is well run. The decor is fun and different. The rooms are well designed for working purposes. The hotel is peaceful but very central."

"Maison Melrose was a wonderful place to stay. Quite unique as it was built into the rock which kept the downstairs very cool. The bedrooms had aircon which was lovely in the heatwave."

"The location was excellent, sea view, close to D-day memorials. Good welcome. Excellent food and service. The room was warm enough once we put the radiator on, but it was rather chilly on arrival. There was some building work happening which caused the building to feel dusty and had a smell of the building work. But when completed we would love to return."

"We had two rooms with an interconnecting door, which was a very good arrangement and not too much over £100. The rooms were comfortable with good bathrooms, nice beds, aircon that worked well. The location was excellent, right in the centre of town. The lobby area was good with, unusually, a water cooler - much appreciated after a long drive."
