"Our stay on the Yathra Houseboat will always stay in our minds and hearts. This is our second time within 3 years. We had a vacation of our life with all the comfort and pampering by the staff on the boat. The cruise on the river provided rare glimpse of few exotic birds and a large group of monkeys. The narrations by the Manager of the Dedduwa Boat House about those birds were very informative. The Skipper was kind enough to stop along the river bank to watch the birds closely and take photographs. The candle-lit dinner and the night spend on the upper deck was simply magical. The next day my husband even managed catch some fish while cruising. The staff arranged them to be prepared for our lunch and that dish was out of this world. The staff went an extra mile to make us happy. The bedrooms and the facilities on board were above standard. This is the best destination we spend while in Sri Lanka. Keep it up Yathra and we will back again next year."

"Our trip was amazing, we arrived at the night to beach with bioluminescent, stay at the camping, witch made special for us. In the morning we went to diving with tortuges"

"I loved the whole concept. Just to wake up in the morning with the view of the boats in Marina is perfect. The house is more like a apartment with a perfect uper deck, with Jacuzzi and the view. You can really organize your time as you like, be active or just take it easy. In the evening is perfect moment to relax and watch the stars from hot Jacuzzi tub. Everything is close by. The beach is not a perfect one but it’s close one and you can always easily go for the swim. The house has everything you need and the host Igor was helpful in organizing everything to run smoothly. Thank you for that. I will definitely come again."

"Very cute. There is private parking. Location is great. Host is very helpful. Detailed instructions were given on everything. From how to get there to how to operate devices."

Not necessarily a concern for all and it comes with the territory. If you are tall, you’ll struggle inside. If you have some weight or have mobility issues it will be difficult to get on and off. Shower is outside in the marina facilities. No AC so it might be difficult on very hot weather. We were fine with the fan.

"This place is very special to our family, and we come back every summer. We’ve stayed in the resort’s different lake houses and all have been great. The Swan House is cozy and charming, and since it’s only reachable by boat, it was an extra adventure for our child. Waking up to the sounds of the lake—fish jumping, raindrops (we had a few during our stay), the wind in the reeds, and birdsong—was simply magical. The owner is a wonderful lady, full of energy and creative ideas. Her warm hospitality and the super tasty pancakes she made for breakfast made our stay even more memorable."

The Swan House does not have a shower or sink, but with the lake all around, it wasn’t really a problem for us.

"Extremely friendly staff! Very nice surroundings, excellent location on the river. Delicious food with enormous portions. Simple, but clean and cozy. Fishing possibility on site."

Bathroom is needing little repair works.

"Que estaba cerca y accesible para la movilidad. La piscina limpia y los ventiladores funcionaban bien. No hubo mosquitos, pese a tener plantas."

Las toallas y sábanas, deberían renovarlas. El penúltimo día, el personal no brindó información sobre actividades o lugares para hacer o conocer dentro de la ciudad. Que cobran el 8% si pagas con tarjeta 🙁

The bed was a bit uncomfortable, too soft for our preference.

"Ein außergewöhnliches und unvergessliches Karibikerlebnis! Absolut zu empfehlen! Der Gastgeber Franck ist sehr nett und er erklärt auch wunderbar die Handhabung des Dingis, so dass man auch jederzeit an Land gehen kann. Möchte man aber bei so einem paradiesischen Hausboot gar nicht :-). Mehr Karibik geht nicht!"
