"The style of the hotel has become quite retro, but the quality of the original facilities means that this is retro with charm and comfort, even if somewhat faded. The working fireplaces in several locations of the hotel, including the bar and the breakfast room, added a lot to the pleasant atmosphere. The building has a history and historic connections, it was very interesting to read about these on site. At our departure, the clouds had lifted and the view of the snow-covered Serra da Estrela was the cherry on the cake."
