"lovely hotel and in a picture perfect village, staff were very friendly and accommodating. It was so nice we’ve already booked up again for the same time next year. The cafe for breakfast next door is wonderful, the food is the abbey is delicious so are the cocktails"

"It's a beautiful room with exposed beams, beautifully furnished, a comfortable bed, rainfall shower and views over the canal. The staff were friendly and accommodating and allowed us to check in early as we had luggage."

"Unfortunately we weren't given advance notice of a wedding downstairs. We were only told on arrival. The music was too loud to relax in the room until 11.30pm. Had I had advance notice I would have booked elsewhere as we had travelled since the early hours that day and had to be up early the next day. A shame because otherwise it's perfect!"

"Staff were friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was very good. Our room was very spacious and clean. Breakfast across the road at Ollie’s coffee was so good that on our last day we went back for lunch! Also, Abcoude is a pretty little town and great for cycling and it’s a short train ride into Amsterdam."

"It was a bit disappointing that the hotel was closed on our second day and Ollie’s coffee was also closed so we had to buy stuff at the supermarket which luckily was close by. We also had facilities like a fridge and crockery in the room which was good. We were a bit anxious about having to park in the public car park with our bikes but it was fine, and free (as long as you don’t park behind the blue lines.)"

"The location at the centre of Abcoude is very convenient. The neighbourhood is picturesque and quiet. Bike hire is available at the cafe across the street. The bus and train are nearby. The staff are helpful and professional. The location is perfect for visiting the AMC."

"Room was large and airy, very quiet, big bathroom with excellent shower, well appointed kitchenette, comfortable bed, nice ambiance, lovely staff and the owner couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Lovely outside terrace on the river that catches the evening sun - lovely for lunch, dinner and or drinks. Abcoude is a lovely village with lots of nice restaurants and small shops. A small Albert Heijn supermarket is just across the road as is 'Ollie's coffee and more' where you can rent bikes and have breakfast and coffee throughout the day - they too couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. Highly recommend a stay at Abbey and cycling in the area of Abcoude - truly stunning. The hotel is an easy 10-15 minute walk from the train station. It took us around 45 minutes to get from Schiphol to Abcoude."
