"We loved it here and would not hesitate to stay again if we were on ometepe. The beds were comfortable and clean, the rooms had fans and aircon, the Wi-Fi was amazing, the food was excellent, we woke up right on the beach and watched stunning sunsets whilst sipping beers. The staff were friendly and helpful, Fernando was welcoming and the tunes in the bar were great. However, other people may find fault in that the rooms were basic with little furniture beyond the beds, the showers were cold and the menu was a bit limited - didn’t bother us, but just an FYI."

"The door on my room rattled a lot and the AC didn't work. I could hear dogs barking all night (kind of a thing in Nicaragua)"

"Friendly staff, good breakfast, restaurant included, directly at Lago Cocibolca. Haven't tried the kayaks, but other guests did. It's a hostel located between locals, you'll get waked by roosters ;) Just for information: chicken bus takes two hours to ferry, shuttle approx one hour."

"Nice spot on the lake, lovely to chill out and remote. Staff all lovely and helpful and the free breakfast is good! Definitely get the AC, it’s needed as we struggled the first night without it! You can rent kayaks for free for an hour, would recommend doing this over sunset."

"There were fires burning constantly from the neighbours and all our laundry we got done smelt of smoke afterwards as well as coming into our room on the last night. Not very sociable but good for a couple or those looking to chill out."

"The private balcony was the best. Could swing in the hammock and watch the sunset over the lake and watch the fireflies flutter around after dark. AC was nice and meant we slept well. Other places with AC on the island are much more money. Food at the restaurant is well priced and big portions. You can book a kayaking tour of the swamps with them. It was very good. The price is very very good for what you get."

"Water in shower was cold but think that’s common for Ometepe. Road to hotel was very bumpy and rocky. We had an ATV which made it easier but would be hard on motorbike (although we saw many people manage). Again quite common for Ometepe"

"Very nice cabin at the lake. Restaurant was good and prices in the same range as similar restaurants. Attentive staff. Calm area. Roller rental (necessary if you want move around the island, since only one bus per day and taxis are expensive). Kayak tour (altough it was very hard to paddle against the wind - take the motorboat to the river if you don't want to suffer)."

"Very thin dogs always laying on our porch and also fighting with each other (but same as everywhere in Nicaragua). There was a problem with Booking so we could stay only 3 nights in the booked cabin. They would have provided another room (cheaper, no AC) for us. We decided to continue our travel - so this was not a big issue for us (they had a solution for the problem). Our guide at the kayak tour didn't really speak english, so we did not get so much information (but he tried)."

"Everything. The included breakfast was great and staff very welcoming and helpful. Kayaks for free for an hour a day. Sunset from here is incredible. Right on the water and fishes are jumping out. Very comfortable rooms with clean showers and soap provided. Beds comfortable. Not too many bugs due to good policies in the place. The road down is treacherous but not too far (I walked it most days from the main road."
