"This is one of the nicest places we have stayed at in Sri Lanka. Wifi was super fast, great air conditioning, beautiful room & hot water. The host was so accomodating, organising Tuk Tuk's to the Main Street, great communication and English skills."

"The property is a little out of the way from the main area. However; you can hire your own scooter & it has incredible morning views of the sunrise over the mountains. It's also super quiet so we had a great night sleep."

"Ella Ostella is a beautiful place, located outside of the city center up in the hills. Walking down to the city is a nice walk, which doesn't take long, and up there are always a lot of tuc tucs around to take you. The staff is friendly and helpful! The room isn't the newest, but it's nice, clean and well equipped. They are also building a new house at the moment just above the old one, which looks like it will be amazing when it's finished! View is great."

"De mensen zijn super lief, ze regelen heel veel voor je en zijn erg behulpzaam. De hotel kamer is ook fantastisch, super ruim met een heel erg mooi balkon waar je naar de Ella rock kijkt.. en de waterval kan je ook duidelijk zien."

"Het enige nadeel was dat je boven op een berg zit en hier kunnen auto’s niet komen, je moet er ook rekening mee houden dat je wanneer het donker is NIET terug kan lopen en dus veel met de tuktuk moet doen."

"The place is remote, really remote, you cant get there by car only tuktuk or by foot. About 2 km from town. The road was bumpy and unpleasant. When you go to Ella you want to be in ella not 2 km outside of Ella on top of a mountain. You'll pay the difference in tuktuks. The are meintanance work being done on the property meaning machinery sound from early in the morning to late at night. In addition there are many bugs and the place needs some cleaning."

"Das Zimmer war sehr schön und groß, die Aussicht ist der Hammer! Allerdings sollte der Weg zum Hotel beachtet werden da es wirklich sehr steil raufgeht!!"

"Der Raum war recht groß und das Frühstück gut. Die Aussicht (wenn man sich außerhalb der Unterkunft befindet) ist ziemlich schön!"

"Man muss genau hinschauen, welche Räumlichkeiten man bucht. Das Zimmer war nicht wie auf den Bildern. Alles war sehr heruntergekommen. Die Seife der Vorgänger wirde nicht ausgetauscht. Extrem viele Ameisen und sonstige Tiere im Zimmer. Erst am dritten Tag hatten wir warmes Wasser. Um zu dem Zimmer zu kommen muss man einen relativ steilen Weg herunterlaufen (eher klettern), der nur aus Erde besteht. Keine richtigen Treppen. Man muss also realtiv fit sein. Durch die Lage sehr weit oben auf dem Berg ist man auf einen Roller oder Tuktuks angewiesen. Zu Fuß sind nur sehr wenige Restaurants erreichbar. Ich würde hier nicht wieder buchen."
