"The shuttle bus from the airport was on site when we arrived and very comfortable after the plane ride. Check in was quick and the staff was amazing. Our room was exceptionally clean and the bed was comfortable."

Good buffet breakfast, clean swimming pool, lovely gardens, spacious rooms. I felt very safe here as a solo female too."

There was nothing I didn't like.

"During our stay, my wife fell ill. Diagnosed with severe malaria, she was transferred from the over-worked Moroni public hospital to a private clinic (at the hotel’s initiative). Over the next week, the Retaj’s staff treated us both as family and could not have been more helpful."

Main dining area felt rather utiltarian. Food was fine , service friendly. The bingo/ karaoke evening was good fun

"Traditional hotel with very relaxed atmosphere. Family owned and staff who were absolutely lovely. Funny, friendly and helpful. Quite quirky with a definite African ambience. Not trying to be too perfect!! Close to the beach in a quiet area. Super pool with stress free feeling as quite shallow and never busy. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and visited regularly by cheeky monkeys."

A lack of written information describing amenities. Mosquitos can be a problem if you normally suffer after being bitten.

"Excellent location. ALL the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Near to the American Memorial Park and if you want to book a tour of Saipan, I can recommend Walt at Discover Saipan. He gave me a superb tour of Saipan and Tinian and can collect from the hotel. Delicious dinner in the Terrace restaurant. Several pools and one of them is large enough to swim lengths and is open till late. I wish I could have stayed a bit longer!"

Everything was perfect.

"- Great location, just a short 10 minute walk to Port Hercule. Also located next to a underpass with travellators which leads you to and from Monaco train station which is perfect. - 10 minute walk to a big underground supermarket - Friendly staff - Room fine, had everything needed - Breakfast fine. Small pastries, bread, selection of yoghurts, cheese, ham, juices and coffee.,"

- Room and hotel were incredibly hot. We had to sleep with the window open (in February!) just to get some air. - Dated hotel, could do with a refresh

"The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had a problem with the heating in the room and on the third night they changed us to another room, which was great."

The first room we had was very cold as the heating was not working.

It’s a bit way out to get to any bars or restaurants on foot- St.Lawrence Gap, £10 e/w, for amenities. Walk at your peril the roads & drivers are haphazard & it takes a good half hour if you’re relatively fit!

"I stayed nearly 2 weeks in Don Andres while attending a language school in Sosua. The location was perfect, only few mins walking from beaches Casa Marina and Alicia. The apartment was spacious and very quiet. I also enjoyed chilling by the pool and having a coffee at the adjacent restaurant. Henrik was very helpful with accommodating my requests."
