"We stayed in the private apartment a few blocks from La Comarca Hostel. It has everything you need - comfy double bed, an en suite with large shower, and a well equipped little kitchen with a stove, toaster, kettle. The whole vibe was very stylish, modern and clean. All the staff were lovely!! I said it was my partners birthday before arrival and they had put up balloons and little treats for us! Although we didn’t stay in the main hostel, it had a warm vibe when we dropped by and we were allowed to leave our bikes down the side of the hostel for a few nights while hiking. Overall, highly recommend!"

"The hostel was pretty clean. The staff at the reception were friendly, helpful, and patient. They have a lot of knowledge about tourism in Bagan and were always happy to give advice or answer questions. It was also very convenient that they can help you book buses directly at the hostel, and that you can rent e-bikes. Another big plus is the atmosphere. The hostel is social, but not in an overwhelming way. It’s not loud or pushy. There are great opportunities to connect with other travelers if you want, but you can also just sit by the pool and enjoy some quiet time. I think this place is perfect both for people looking for peace and quiet and for those who want to meet others."

There wasn’t much to complain about. The only small improvement I can think of would be adding curtains to the beds, which would give a bit more privacy.

"Wonderful staff; onsite restaurant including with a wide choice on menu, reasonably priced if using the unofficial exchange rate. My room was situated by the lake edge and was such a wonderful experience listening just to the waves crushing in the night and awaking to a wonderful sunrise. Truly bliss. Thought powered by solar, my shower was reasonably hot and lighting though dim was constant. I still recommend taking a torch for the sometimes power cuts. Be sure to arrange a boat trip….. you won’t regret it. Eagle bird, cliff jumping and snorkelling. One might even be able to visit the Rastafarian community near by."

Wifi was only available in reception area and to reach room I had to negotiate a steep set of stairs where railings were sometimes missing. Could be potentially dangerous and not recommended if one suffers from knee problems. Whilst orders were excellent the service could be vastly improved. Orders took for ever to arrive and were often cold. Management, if reading, please sort this out!

"The hostel is in the heart of Antwerp, it’s walkable distance from anywhere. We got access to our room very early which was a nice surprise. Our beds were comfortable and the shared spaces were alright. I liked the decor. Our stay came with a free breakfast, which was absolutely lovely. As fas as hostels go, this was a very pleasant experience."

My only gripe was again the location. Being that the hostel is in the very center, there was a lot of noise outside until the early hours of the morning. Again, not the hostel’s fault, just something to keep in mind.

But what really made the experience was the vibe—there’s such a natural sense of community here that just pulls you in. What I loved and will miss the most were the owners and staff, who are easily some of the warmest, most genuine people I met on this trip. Somehow managed to feel like I’d known them for ages by the time I left. Left with a full heart and would 100% want to stay here again."
