Ampelo Resort

"A hidden gem overlooking the Georgian wine region with distant views of the Caucasus mountains. Rooms were a good size and well equipped, the restaurant was well sized and offered great views, as did the sun terrace. There is also a lovely pool area. Breakfast was good with a good number of items on the buffet. Not sure there is much else to do in the local area, but the restaurant offered a great menu and selection of wines."

"Ampelo Resort is located in the heart of Kakheti and is easy to reach by car. The hotel has an impressive front entrance, and the views from both the room and the restaurant are absolutely splendid. The large yard is beautifully landscaped, with every corner thoughtfully decorated. Breakfast was decent, and there is also an additional building with unique décor — the wine cellar is definitely worth a visit."

"When traveling to regional châteaus, you expect food prepared with fresh local ingredients rather than factory-produced mass-market products. I was very disappointed not to have the chance to try local eggs, chicken, veal, and other regional specialties. We also ordered both dinner and supper at the hotel, and while some dishes were enjoyable, others clearly need improvement. The khachapuri, for example, had a noticeably different taste each time, depending on the cook’s skills. The mtsvadi was also not well-prepared. Overall, the cuisine should better align with the hotel’s otherwise high standards."

"The hotel had a very good breakfast and an absolutely delicious restaurant – every dish was better than the last. The room offered a beautiful view, which made the stay even more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Just a small note – it would be great if they could refresh some of the bathrobes and towels."

"The property was very beautiful, rooms pretty with comfortable beds, very elaborate and delicious breakfast. The location is a little far from Sighnaghi town."

"The only small improvement would be to have some staff at the gate and help with luggage. when we reached we were a little confused because there was a huge gate which was closed and no one around. it was a little confusing."

"We had three meals at Ampelo and all were good. The breakfast was tasty and the they had a coffee machine for nice coffees. My son liked to see the chickens and birds in the garden."

"Weather was terrible and not a lot to do outside of the main dinning hall with the bad weather. The trampoline was broken as well."

"1. Very noisy old air conditioner:(( It’s unreal to sleep with it turned on. Advice: add plz quiet modern air ventilator for this purpose- will be perfect;) 2. Bad smell from sewerage in a bathroom. "Сложно назвать это хорошими завтраками: постоянно чего-то не хватало, если пришёл через час после начала завтрака считай что будешь есть помидоры и орехи. Причём мы были три дня и завтрак изо дня в день становился всё хуже и меньше. В последний день они даже забыли включить подогрев еды. В ресторане также постоянно нету части блюд, достаточно скудный выбор. Покормить ребёнка был тот ещё квест."

"Прекрасный отель с потрясающим видом с балкона на Алазанскую долину. В отеле есть бассейн и очень ухоженная территория. В отеле две категории номеров: c видом на лес и с видом на Алазанскую долину. Я бронировал с видом на лес, но нам повезло и так получилось, что нам бесплатно повысили категорию номера - мы получили прекрасный вид! Очень здорово вечером пить вино на балкончике. В номере также был презент - бутылка вина, что приятно. Доброжелательный персонал и отличный завтрак!"
