"We loved the unusual vibe of this place - best described as 'Fawlty Towers'!! There is stuff everywhere, and while we were there it was all run by one very stressed owner! He greeted us, and cooked, and served behind the bar. The car park was very useful (and secure). The room was unusual but the bed was comfortable and clean. The breakfast Croissant were the best!!"

"The gentlemen who own the hotel are very nice,not to mention his hospitality, the food is amazing. The place is old but you have the impression that you are at home and not in a hotel. I had a great time here! Thank you sir for everything!"

"the staff, the chef, the owner all were super kind and helpful, we had a tough day and a tougher drive and even had to drive through a flood and 1.5 m high water( flash floods en route to the hotel) , our car was beyond dirty and we were beyond exhausted...we couldn't stop en route for dinner either by the time we reached the hotel it was well past midnight we were starving. The staff knew what we went through and were so helpful they even parked the car for us, though the kitchen was closed they obliged us and cooked all 3 of us a wonderful dinner at 1 am! you can't beat that kind of service, it can't be taught, love this place, and im sure we will be stopping by again !"

"The bedding arrangement seemed odd to us, there being no top sheet, just a blanket. The stairs are quite steep and slightly uneven, part of the charm of an old building; tricky for the elderly and infirm but worth the effort for such an unforgettable experience."

"Hotel de L’Escale Bar is 100% genuine charm. Food is excellent, rooms clean and basic/cosy depending on how much you pay, private/safe parking. Yes, you can find that elsewere but what’s not easy to find is owner with a heart. From entering and rest of the stay you feel at home. The logburner, locals in the bar chatting away, nice and quiet surroundings, all with a genuine feel to it and much appreciated."

"L'accueil du propriétaire des lieux fut très agréable même en arrivant tardivement. Hôtel à l'ancienne, dans son jus, ce qu'il lui donne du cachet. Ensemble de l'établissement propre. WiFi et tv moderne. Hôtel situé sur un axe principal, facile à trouver."

"Un des deux lits de la chambre doit être changer car beaucoup trop mou. Les toilettes sur le palier, c'est un peu déroutant. Prix un peu élevé pour la prestation."
