"It is a friendly little hotel with a reasonably priced bar and dining area downstairs. It was very close to the sea and would be especially nice in Summer. We were there in winter but even so it was cosy. Some of the staff spoke English and those that were not confident used cell phone translations to explain stuff"

"A fire alarm went off on the night we were there and we were a bit astonished that no one cleared the rooms or checked everyone was out. It appears someone was smoking in their room."

"I often sat at the table on the balcony of my room watching people passing on the street below. From there, I could see some of the beach in a gap between two buildings and watch people swimming. The cafe beneath served us a great vegetarian pizza. There was a laundromat very close which had a mini supermarket opposite, and there was a crêperie next door that also served nice sorbet. The staff all spoke English."

"Unfortunately, there was no elevator, and the stairs were quite narrow and steep, which made it tricky getting our suitcases up to our room the second floor. The location was great because it was at the end of the beach away from the main tourist crowds, but that meant it was about a 40-minute walk to the old city."

"The staff were able to communicate in English and French and the price was good. I was staying in St Malo because I had an early ferry to catch in the morning and I have done the pre-dawn drive previously and it is not much fun. The hotel is also a Brasserie so I was able to get a beer even though I arrived quite late."

"I had some trouble finding the hotel although this was in part because my GPS was sending me to a very similar address that was in the middle of the Citadel when there was a festival on! Be careful in making sure that you are being directed to an address a couple of km out of the walled city. Whilst the WiFi worked well in most of the hotel it did not cover my room (#6/8?) so I had to sit on the stairs to check that my ferry was on time etc."
