"Excellent location close to the cathedral and restaurants. Staff are helpful and efficient. Great breakfast organised by an especially nice lady. Comfortable bed, hot shower. Rooms are basic but perfectly adequate for a short stay. Everywhere very clean. Room nice and warm on a cold and wet February night. Great value for money. Not our first stay here, and it won't be our last."

"When we visited it took us 2 hours to get to the hotel due to road works and road closures. Information from the hotel regarding this was very poor and we ended up going round in circles. In the end they sent the night manager to help direct us to the hotel. In that sense the staff were very helpful but a little foresight and up front information and accurate directions could have avoided a frustrating evening."

"Breakfast was basic and therefore overpriced. Heating in the rooms not effective, especially in colder months. Additional heating appliances would have helped."

"The location was amazing and the facilities were basic but clean and couldn't have been better for the price! So much nicer than your usual budget hotel. Right in the centre of the old town so a short walk from nice restaurants and literally around the corner from the incredible cathedral"

"The directions from the hotel for the car park were not great, It took us about 45 mins to find it and ended up parking somewhere else. Satnav didn't work as it was in the old town and I think car's are residents only. It is possible but clearer insructions would have been great."

"Amazing building, views over the town, good staff, comfortable beds, nice temperature - not stuffy like most hotels - right next to the cathedral, restaurants in the beautiful old town. The snow made it absolutely magical at night."

"Difficult to find, definitely need one person driving, satnav, and one person deciphering the maps. The 'bollards' described in the hotel directions are actually what we call in the UK 'rising bollards', blocking the very narrow old streets near to the hotel. In fact the parking is inside the gates of the hotel, a very sharp right turn, and you don't need to pass a rising bollard to reach it, so don't bother getting out and trying to use the machines which presumably lower them. On the way out you can drive around them by using different streets. I do not advise trying to drive through these streets in the snow, as we did, unless with a 4 wheel drive or a car you don't mind damaging. We made it in a Suzuki vitara, but only just. Worth it though."

"Our second visit to this hotel which is in an excellent location in an interesting old building. The rooms are basic but the beds are comfortable. Good breakfast in the old refectory. Very good value overall."

"Difficult access by car despite the instructions provided. The room was rather hot but no way to turn down the heating. No hairdryer."
