"The hostel has a lot of things going for it. The location is fabulous on the top of an amazing hill that overlooks Leon. It has a spectacular view and is really worth going there. The accommodation in the dormitories was satisfactory in every way. Lovely mattress & bed linen. I had the top bunk and there was a little curtain to keep me closed in as well as a piece of timber covering the other side. One of the toilets had a toilet seat that came off completely, however the other one was clean and the showering area I just kind of skipped because that was unclean. The staff were brilliant when I arrived after midnight and I was welcomed and shown to my room and in fact shown my bed because everything was pitch black at that time. The guy serving the breakfast in the morning was very friendly and accommodating to my very poor French."

"The view from the hostel was great and the staff was very helpfull, in general and with the issues that arose during my stay. The common areas were very active so it was great to meet other travellers. The location was close to the old city and its restaurants."

"There were many suboptimal things at the hostel, the ceiling height of the room was low enough that i couldnt stand up at the bed, there was not enough electrical outlets in the room for each guest, and only at the door. The hostel arranged cheap social dining for guests, but there werent really room to sit together and eat, which was a bit sad. The washing machine was very slow and the drier didnt dry very well."

"I stayed at Hostel Lyon Centre and had an amazing experience. The view was absolutely stunning, and the breakfast and dinner meals were both very affordable and delicious. The staff were always friendly and welcoming, with a smile on their faces every time. The rooms and common areas were kept very clean, and it truly exceeded my expectations. I booked a room on the upper floor, and the toilets and bathrooms there were also very clean and well-maintained. One thing to note for newcomers: the hostel is located in the hill area, which gives it those amazing views. Walking up can be a bit of a challenge, but the best way to reach it is by taking the funicular from Vieux Lyon to Minimes – Théâtre Romain. From there, it’s just a 2-minute downhill walk, which makes it super convenient. Overall, a wonderful stay – I’d highly recommend it!"
