Château Philip

"It was a truly exceptional stay! The hosts were incredibly welcoming and friendly, and they made our stay genuinely enjoyable. All the rooms are beautifully renovated while still preserving their historic charm. If a score of 100 were possible, they would absolutely deserve it."

"Wonderful rooms and the most amazing breakfast. Excellent hosts."

"Some shampoo & shower gel in the bathroom would be the only very small thing missing."

"Armand & Ludovic are excellent hosts and made us very welcome. Our room was very comfortable and relaxing. The grounds and pool are also inviting. Probably best of all was the delicious dinner Armand & Ludovic prepared just for us - it was delicious! We look forward to returning!"

"A wonderful chateau close to St Etienne with gracious hosts. Great place to stay on our road trip!"

"Nothing to mention"

"We loved staying here. The rooms at the chateau are lovely - spacious and comfortable. We were only there for one night on our way further south but wished we had booked for an extra night. The hosts were so friendly and generous. We were offered welcome aperitifs on the terrace before dinner and encouraged to swim in the pool (which we did) before leaving. The pool is a lovely size to swim in. Breakfast was delicious. The hosts have thought of everything and take great care to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. We will definitely return - and next time will book for longer and explore the area."

"Everything was perfect"

"We only stayed for one night but everything was excellent - the room was decorated with much thought, there was a communal fridge to store drinks, we were able to get some very reasonably priced rosé to drink by the pool. Breakfast was very homely."

"There is no air con but we didn’t expect that in a property of this age and a fan was provided which was fine"

"The chateau is beautiful and the rooms have been renovated with great flair and attention to detail by the relatively new owners. It has a lovely touch of luxury which was very welcome whilst travelling across Europe…and we enjoyed a dip in the pool as well before leaving. Armand was a wonderful host."
