Ace Hotel Bourges

"We stayed for one night while travelling across France. The location close to the motorway was excellent and there was a choice of 3 restaurants within walking distance (Boucherie, Chez Marc and Leon). The room was quiet with its quadruple glazing so we heard no noise from the lorries at the distribution centre behind the hotel. Breakfast included scrambled eggs and sausages, as well as usual cereals, toast etc. The bed was large and comfortable, slightly on the firm side. Extra pillows were provided straight away on request."

"Normally we like to have a walk in the evening but there really is nowhere to walk around the hotel as it is just a commercial district beside the motorway - convenient but soulless. As we've found before the design of the shower cubicle was poor so it leaked onto the bathroom floor again."

"Close to Autoroute and easy to find. Good gated parking. Asked in advance for and allocated excellent room for person with disability. Lift. Spacious, clean, excellent bathroom. No evening meal but 15% discount at good restaurant very close. Good breakfast. Good value."

"Booked Accessible room, as my mother is a wheelchair user. Loved that I could book a Disability Access room on Booking.com. Very easy to reach hotel, plenty of parking, and walking distance to a good restaurant. Stayed twice, on our journey down and journey back, staying in accessible rooms 404 and 204, both same layout. 204 better option for my mother, regular height bed, but the handrail was falling out of the bathroom door - we informed front desk as we checked out and that should be fixed by now. Room 404 had a very low bed, so I had to lift my mother in and out. Communication in advance with the hotel was great, they assured me that I had book an accessible room and that there were handrails in the bathroom."
