"The hosts were exceptionally kind and welcoming, surprising us with thoughtful and personal welcome greetings that made us feel truly special. You can sense the care and attention they’ve put into the property, it has a unique charm. It doesn’t feel like just renting a place to stay, but rather being welcomed into someone’s home. The flat was beautifully organized and well thought-out, with everything we could possibly need provided."

"The property is stylish, comfortable and in beautiful condition. The owners are friendly and generous: leaving a delicious homemade flan, a box of presents and some basics to get us started. They even let us park our car on their property, as we arrived during Bastille Day festivities! There is a small garden in the back and a lovely space, with covered terrace, to the front. The ceiling fan in the lounge made it a cool and inviting place to be in the extreme heat. The lovely boulevard Sur Le Mail is situated on is a green and peaceful oasis with places to sit in the sun or the shade. The proximity to the town was good for us. A 15 minute walk or a short bus ride away, there being a bus stop almost outside the house. The beach is close and a variety of restaurants are near, with a Michelin starred one a couple of blocks away. I would recommend 64 Dur Le Mail very highly."

"I didn't like being met with an inventory to sign. Most unusual. Though maybe understandable with so many valuable items in the house. I suspect the cooker needs different pans, since it was difficult even to boil an egg!"

"Fabulous location near the sea with a short walk into the old historic township of beautiful La Rochelle. Bright, clean and tidy beautifully appointed two storey accommodation with kind hosts. Welcome gift on arrival with a meet and greet."

"Not much as everything was pretty good. If we were to make a few constructive comments it would be that there needs to be two sets of keys and one of them should remain in the lock when inside. For example, in a fire you could end of being locked in without knowing where the keys are. The locks are very different to what we were used to. We were a bit taken a back by having to sign a contract which we couldn’t read nor understand as it was all in French. I can imagine that might be too much for some travellers and perhaps this should be sent in English prior to a visit? Though we understand the need to inspect a place, we were also a bit taken back by this whilst we were there. We haven’t experienced this before. However, the hosts were very sweet and kind. And nothing was too much trouble."

"The location was ideal, residential and quiet, but very pleasant scenic 10 min walk into old port area, which has a good concentration of bars and restaurants. Also, worth knowing, the airport bus service (1b) stops 10-15 mins easy walk from the house (bus stop 'Coligny') if you travel fairly light. There are a handful of useful shops about 5 mins walk away on Avenue Coligny. The house was exactly as the photos, very spacious, all modern, everything top quality and in excellent working order. The shower was superb and the bed was extremely comfortable. The hosts, Thierry and Louisette, were so welcoming and helpful, it was a very personal service where they greeted us at the start of the stay and end of the stay. We stayed a week, in very rainy weather! But staying here made all the difference, it felt like home and was very relaxing to come back to each day."

"We really enjoyed our stay at 64 Sur Le Mail. The owners were there to meet us and were friendly and helpful. The decor was lovely, the kitchen was well stocked with plates, glasses, crockery, utensils etc. The bed was very comfortable and a good size.The outdoor areas were pleasant and in the shade. The apartment was in a great location, only a 10 minute walk to the old port and all the shops and restaurants. We would recommend a stay here!"

"Unfortunately, there is no air conditioning in the apartment (there is a ceiling fan in the lounge and a portable fan in the bedroom), so we found the apartment very hot. NB - The weather in La Rochelle was very hot whilst we were there in September."

"Everything new, spotlessly clean and high quality. Apartment finished to a very high standard. Outdoor spaces lovely. Nice scenic walk to town. Shops and bakery close by. Louisette and Thierry are so friendly and accommodating. Hope to be back!!"

"The property was very modern and in the perfect location, only a 15 minute walk which was very scenic from the main part of La Rochelle. The property had everything we needed, it was extremely clean and the owners had thought of every little detail. The owners were very welcoming and helped us on several occasions during our stay. We are looking at returning next year."

"L'agencement est remarquable, les verrières rendent le logement très lumineux, avec une présence remarquable du soleil. Tout a été pensé pour le confort, il ne manquait rien, et c'est rare. Proche du centre ville (15 minutes à pied par le front de mer), le logement profite d'un calme remarquable. L'étage avec la chambre/SDB est au niveau du logement dans son ensemble, esthétique, efficace et très relaxant. Une adresse à retenir si vous aimez la Rochelle"
