Sapphire Residence

"The house is in a lovely residential neighborhood between downtown Willemstad and Mamo Beach. The three bedrooms were very comfortable and we could have air-conditioning if we wanted. The outdoor seating area in the backyard was very comfortable and has shade. The washing machine worked great. The living area was just what we needed. The two bathrooms are modern. We appreciated having the self contained space of a single-family house. We could park our car right in front of the house which was very convenient. The neighbors were very friendly. There is an induction cooktop and microwave and good sized fridge."

"The property is three blocks from the waterfront. There is a local cove and you could take a dip in the water, but it’s not the nicest beach. Being on a residential street there is of course no view from the house and you pretty much need to drive everywhere. You can walk downtown in 20 minutes but the heat is a challenge and the sidewalks are narrow. This is the nature of the island overall. Generally, if you’re not staying at a resort, you wind up driving to all the beaches."

"The back yard was great to sit at. We appreciated the sun shades. We appreciated the coffee pods and the laundry pods left for us. The residence was a 25 minute walk from downtown, for those people who enjoy walking. If driving, there are 2 parking lots downtown that are free to park at (parkade at the Renassaince Hotel and at the IMax)."

"We enjoy buying food at either a supermarket for the outdoor markets during a 2 week stay, so we can prepare some of our own meals. Dishes and utensils were provided, however a smaller bowl to be used for serving salad or a side dish in would be appreciated. Also, a larger frying pan, big enough to saute 6 pieces of meat, would be useful, as this residence sleeps 6 adults. A manual for use of the induction stove top would be useful. We had to call the host for instructions. Also, we could only use 2 burners at a time on the stove. A book with some nearby local restaurant recommendations would be useful."
