"Good communication and response from host! Price wise and location is good! But at night time make sure you take a Uber, don't walk around the dodgy area at night time. Upstairs facilities are good. Living area, kitchen, etc. ask for a room upstairs."

"Rooms on the ground floor are humid - and I had cockroach in mine - 8 of them lying dead on the ground. I know it's Costa Rica and the price of the room goes with it, but it would have been an easy sweep of the broom!"

"The staff was nice and kind, and the location is close to the bus station 7-10, if you want to stay closer to the bus station it can work."

"we found a cockroach in our room and another at the lobby; the toilet doesn't have a door but a sort of plastic strip curtain , the strips were broken, so you are not able to close it even if you try, it makes it feel not really hygienic."

"The room was clean, the common spaces tidy. Nothing fancy but it looked exactly like the photos. The location is perfect if you just need 1 night after or before a bus trip. The surroundings are a bit sketchy, but just be aware of it and you will be so fine. Just ask for the door code before arrival and check the photos on Google Maps to see how the main gate looks like. The host was very nice and the bed was super comfortable."

"It was close to the bus station and had space to cook in the kitchen. We had a free bottle of water in the room. There's a small balcony off the kitchen upstairs. The best thing about here is how close it is to the bus station; I highly highly recommend going to the bus station and buying the spicy potato pastry! It will make your whole trip worthwhile."

"The price to pay upon arrival was more expensive than what we booked. We had a cockroach in our bedroom. The bathroom window didn't close. The bathroom door was broken. No natural light in the bedroom. Stepping outside is like being in a zombie land, full of drug addicts in every direction but that's pretty much the whole of San Jose it seemed so no fault to the property on that point."

"Sand an email 2 days before arrival and let me know how to move in.In addition to the hair on the sheets,other places are very clean."

"I was treated nicely, great staff, security and communication. The room was really comfy, surprisingly big, not sure why there is so much empty space. For a city it had decent views, meh."

"Well this is partly on me, first time I stay at a hostel. The price might be just a tad bit higher than I expected for the level of comfort, but the location is complete trash. Really dangerous streets near the Red Zone of San José. It's located near Paso de la Vaca and there is so much poverty, robbers, assaults and more. Tons of prostitution. Never walk through there, even surrounded by people you might be victim of robbing or assault. Even then, some drivers don't dare to drive through there and will refuse service."

"Big room, big and comfortable bed, big shower/bathroom. 2 towels provided. Everything was very clean. Convenient 5 minute walk to the 7-10 bus terminal (now renamed Terminal Atlantico Norte). The property had a sturdy, locked gate at the entrance which made me feel safe in the neighbourhood, even though the neighbourhood felt a little sketchy. The hostess was lovely and even stayed up to the early hours of the morning to receive me since my flight was delayed. She also made me lunch before I left. Very lovely lady."

"Spacious room with balcony, clean bathroom. Kitchen was nicely equipped. We choose this place only for one night as the next day a driver was picking us up from the hostel to the boarder with Nicaragua. Good place for one night if you are on the go."

"Location was very dodgy, lots of homeless and intoxicated people on the street, we did a short walk to the nearest shop and we didn’t feel very safe."
